Entering into her fourth season at the helm of the volleyball program for the Lady Titans of Carl Albert High School, coach Tabitha McCray is looking forward to the new season after going 21-12 last season. With excellent upperclassman leadership and a fresh crop of young talent dotting the court, coach McCray believes this team will continue to push themselves to reach past their own limits and battle for every point.

“We are coming into the season with a lot of new and fresh talent. We have great senior leaders and a culture that is all about we not me. They are striving for greatness and pushing each other past their limit! They are a fun group to watch,” coach McCray said.

Several players make their return this season including Maggie Moore who is a natural leader and a steady force on and off the court. Coach McCray said Moore was, “a strong leader and is always trying her hardest.” Moore loves to encourage her teammates and pushes them to succeed.

“She is the first one in the door and the last one out,” coach McCray said.

Another outstanding athlete to watch is Tess Proper who enters her first year of varsity play as a freshman. Coach McCray said of Proper, “She is a freshman who will be starting on varsity day one.” A club player, Proper has a high ceiling and is someone to keep an eye for years to come.

“She has a determination to be great that’s incomparable! She is a joy to be around and academically is just as outstanding as athletics,” coach McCray said.

Speaking of freshmen, Londyn Wilson is taking the Oklahoma volleyball world by surprise. Expected to be a big part of the varsity lineup for the Lady Titans, Wilson has been called many things including an incredible talent and a born leader.

“She is determined to be the best athlete on the floor and always make others around her better,” coach McCray said.

A tough schedule will test the Titans this season, but look for this team to rally around each other as they embark on what could be a long run of successful seasons.
