Jake Farley

When Jake Farley was in the sixth grade, he decided to start playing tennis after two coaches encouraged his to give it a try. One is his father.

“I have been playing tennis since 6th grade. I would say it was both my dad, coach Farley and my middle school coach, coach Mays that got me into the sport,” said Jake.

Being a student-athlete is challenging, but Jake said he enjoys the pressure and the competition. Being part of a team, while playing a sport that is also an individual sport is one thing Jake loves about tennis. As a doubles player, Jake is part of a team within the team.

“I enjoy the pressure it brings because you can’t blame mistakes on others it’s all on you. Our whole team because we some dawgs! I enjoy the fact that they are always willing to get better and they always bring positive energy to practice,” said Jake.

Also a football player for Carl Albert HS, Jake said he is looking forward to possibly playing at the next level.

“I don’t really know what I’m doing after high school, but I would like to play football somewhere at the next level,” Jake said.

Whether it’s tennis or football, Jake is making memories that he will carry with him for a lifetime.

“My favorite memory would probably be all the bus rides back after the tournaments,” said Jake.
