Defending 5A State Wrestling Champions
The Carl Albert High School Boys Wrestling Team enters the upcoming season as the defending 5A State Wrestling Champions. Head Coach Curt Hodges expresses optimism, highlighting the return of several outstanding athletes and the notable presence of Kasen Miller, a three-time placer. “We return several State Qualifiers and a three-time state placer in Kasen Miller,” Hodges said. “It’s a good group that has potential to do really well.” The team, comprising a mix of experienced wrestlers and promising talents, shows great potential for another successful campaign.
Kasen Miller (Sr.), entering his senior season, stands out an integral part of his team. As a three-time state placer and two-time state runner-up, Kasen holds the crucial role of team captain and leader, setting the tone for the entire squad. Other wrestlers who qualified for the State Meet include Braden Anderson (Sr.) and Caden Longstreet (Sr.). Another State Qualifier, Brayden Mixay (So.), a promising sophomore, is poised to make an impact on the team. Keep an eye on his development and contributions throughout the season. Layton Leavitt (Sr.) emerges as the athlete who does all the little things right, making a significant difference for the team without always receiving the recognition. His contributions are impertient to the team’s success. Another talented wrestler, Mason Williams excels not only on the mat but also in the classroom, showcasing a commitment to both athletic and academic achievements. Conner Bates (So.) embodies exceptional character, both on and off the wrestling mat. His conduct reflects sportsmanship and integrity, making him a valuable asset to the team. Keep an eye on this incredible wrestling squad; they will be making waves this season on the mat.
