Carl Albert High School senior Shelbie Price has been named to the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State West swim team.
She overcame a nagging injury and rallied to place at state.
“Shelbie damaged her shoulder during a school weightlifting class one year ago and has been struggling to regain her freestyle success that she enjoyed before that injury,” Carl Albert head swimming coach Josh Norman said. “During her senior year, she discovered that the breaststroke motion wasn’t painful. She only trained breaststroke for about seven weeks, but because of her boundless athleticism and competitive spirit, she received a top-eight placement in the breaststroke.”
