“Tashawn does all the little things and makes the hustle plays by being a fierce competitor,” Coach Jay Price
VYPE: What does this team and your teammates mean to you?
James: Our team is very important to me I love all of them, the players and the coaches. It’s been a great time being around this coaching staff for the past two years and building a relationship with them. Even though I’ve been away from the team due to football, I still keep in touch with my teammates often and whenever I get the chance to watch them practice, I try to stay for a while. I like to see everyone going hard in the off season.
VYPE: What does it mean to be called the unsung hero of this team?
James: All this means to me is that I’m going to have to step up and be a leader of this team, being that we sent a lot of seniors off to college last year. Since majority of the team are underclassmen, I know that I will have to set a good example for them going into this season. My goal is to win the gold ball in football and come back to lead this team to its second state championship in a row.
VYPE: What grade are you in and what are your plans after you graduate?
James: I’m in the class of 2023; I plan on going to college to play a sport and most likely major in athletic training.
