After making it back to the state tournament for the first time in five years, Kyle Richey believes he the squad that can make it back-to-back trips for the Lady Titans. “We have seven returning players from last year’s team,” says Richey. “We will rely on our speed, discipline, and passion for the game to help us achieve our goals this season.” Azya Poole (Sr.) will lead the Lady Titans once again this season after averaging 13.0 points, 3.3 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game last year. “Azya will be a four-year starter for us and will break the 1,000-point mark during the season,” says Richey. “She was named Defensive Player of the Year in the Suburban Conference last season and was named one of the 5A Girls Super Prep Five.” Kamryn Sutton (Jr.), Kennedy Cofer (Jr.), and Ariana Diaz (Jr.) are three juniors Richey is expecting to fill key roles for the Lady Titans. All three players averaged 5.0 points or better last season. Saliyah Landon (Soph.) is an underclassmen Richey is excited about this season. “Saliyah played as a freshman last season and her best game came in the area finals,” Richey says. “We are looking for her to continue building on last season’s success.” A couple of other players expected to contribute for the Carl Albert Lady Titans are Maraia Taylor (Sr.) and Ausha Moore (So.).
