Junior Marissa Frolich does it all for Carl Albert on the softball field, whether it’s in the pitcher’s circle or the batter’s box. Last season, Frolich finished with an eye-opening 173 strikeouts finished, a team-high 46 RBIs, and three home runs with a batting average of .460. The Titans recorded 25 wins in that same season, while also finishing 15-0 in district play, and ending the year as state runner up. The impressive season on the mound earned the right-handed ace a spot on the all-district team.
In 20 games this season, Frolich has 69 strikeouts, 22 RBIs, and three home runs as the Titans are off to a 15-5 record.
“Marissa is a workhorse,” coach Dani Dobbs said. “She commands the ball and is able to mix speeds. She is a threat in our batting lineup at the clean-up position. She is a huge power hitter and a force on the mound.”
Frolich will join the Carl Albert track and field team for the first time in the spring, competing in the shot put and discus. Outside of athletics, she is involved in FCA and NHS.
Frolich credits coach Dobbs for her success throughout her softball career.
“She’s been a part of my entire softball career,” Frolich said. “I started playing softball six years ago, and since then, she’s been one of my coaches or is giving me private lessons.”
